Gu Yue Tien

It was my Tai Yee's 60th birthday and my cousin, Maggie wanted to treat her mum to a good dinner and we thought of Gu Yue Tien, a chinese fine-dining restaurant located in Chulan Square in Jalan Bukit Bintang. Its menu ranges from the ordinary fried kway teow to exquisite dishes. We booked a menu for RM1,388 with slight changes - longevity noodles instead of rice, longevity buns instead of pancakes that comes with the ginger tea with glutinous rice balls, and the choices of appetisers for the three combination cold appetiser. At Gu Yue Tien, reservation is encouraged. Pre-dining menu can also be customised to fit the budget one has but be prepared to fork out minimum RM 1k for family dinner of 10 per table as the menu that we made changes to was initailly RM988.

Three Combination Cold Appetiser

Gu Yue Tien Soft Boiled Egg with Foie Gras is one of its signature dishes.

Oven-Baked Lobster Tart Topped with Salmon Caviar and Crab Meat Mayonnaise was simply heavenly.

Stewed Whole Abalone with Japanese Scallop and Broccoli.

Steamed Soon Hock with Minced Ginger and Yellow Bean Paste was good as the fish was fresh and meat was intact.

Cheong Sau Meen, longevity noodles was delicious as noodles were springy and tastily flavoured.

Sau Hou, longevity buns that symbolises long and fruitful life, with lot of descendents.
